Connective Conversation 13 with Alessandra Saviotti – online!

This Thursday, 14 November, 19:30-21:30, Alessandra Saviottiarte from Arte Útil will be the guest of our 13th Connective Conversation on “Archive as Artistic and Curatorial Practice”. For the first time, the conversation will take place online, hosted by Danae Theodoridou, opening up the Professorship’s event for an international audience and for the ones not able to come to Tilburg.

Alessandra Saviotti is a cultural activist, art educator, researcher and curator who lives in Amsterdam. She wrote a PhD on how alternative education models framed as Arte Útil (“Useful Art”) could be successfully implemented within the institution of education, fostering sustainability, hacking the institution itself at the Liverpool John Moores University – School of Art and Design. Her main field of interest is socially engaged art, collaborative practices and Arte Útil. Her work aims to realise projects where the public becomes a co-producer in the spirit of usership, and considers collaborative processes where cooperation is foundational in undermining the notion of competition. Since 2014, she has been collaborating with the Asociación de Arte Útil, especially aiming to emancipate usership around the Arte Útil Archive. She is a curatorial advisor for UNIDEE – Residency Programmes at Cittadellarte- Fondazione Michelangelo Pistoletto in Italy, and an associate of Art Workers Italia.
