I am very happy to share the exiting news that a new project proposal from the professorship on the exploration of artistic practices to create space for youth participation in Reeshof is accepted for funding by KIEM-MV – SIA Nationaal Regieorgaan Praktijkgericht Onderzoek.
Concerning participation, something goes wrong in the Vinex neighbourhood Reeshof in Tilburg, even more so from the perspective of youngsters. There are few social or cultural services or places. The project “Raisehof Collectief” aims to use the imaginative power of the arts in order to develop and investigate alternative perspectives for Reeshof. We involve people aged 12 to 18 to create such alternatives in their immediate living environment by having them design artistic interventions in public spaces. The form and content of Raisehof Collectief’s activities are designed in co-creation and on an equal level with young people, as we want to create space for young people’s perspectives. Raisehof Collectief will develop into an artistic commoning practice, to take care of the ‘common’ together.
The partners in this project are: youngsters of Reeshof, Mirjam van Tilburg from our Fontys professorship Artistic Connective Practices, architect Remco van den Broek and Anja Reinhardt, cultural coach (CiST).
Besides the partners within the collective, we collaborate with Beatrix College, R-Newt, Gemeente Tilburg, and Stichting Ateliers Tilburg. The project will run for about one year.
