Already a few weeks ago, the new issue of Forum+ was published. The issue has an exceptional cover: A photo by Eric Tschernow of Night Journey (2022) by Luis Ortiz and Gabriel Rossell Santillán, handmade tapestry, natural fibres and pigments; woven at the Cruz Workshop in Teotitlán del Valle, Oaxaca, Mexico.

This new issue opens with a wonderful editorial by my dear colleague Nele Wijnants, acknowledging the various forms of collaboration happening in and around the work of Forum+. It also includes a short contribution by Natalie Loveless and Assia Bert, – a writing manual for Fluxus instruction scores – as a follow-up of their work during last year’s First International SAR Forum at the Academy of the Arts in Tilburg.
A furthermore rich palette of articles includes work by Chiara Percivati, Eline de Clercq, Eliana Sánchez-Aldana and others, Veronika Szalai, Nathan de Feyter and others, Ira A. Goryainova, and Luis Ortiz and Gabriel Rossell Santillán (who made the tapestry on the front cover). The issue closes with a review of my recent book on artistic research method and methodology, (Method, Methodology, and Research Design in Artistic Research. Between Solid Routes and Emergent Pathways, Routledge 2024) by Paul Craenen. Paul provides an excellent overview of the book, its content and the Common Ground model that lies at its core. He elaborates on how the book includes the posthuman perspective in research design, and offers welcome critique on how the book does not explicitly address the making of aesthetic and artistic choices can play a role in the methodology of artistic research.
