Last week, a wonderful new publication arrived: hands on research for artists, designers & educators, by Miriam Rasch, Harma Staal and Jojanneke Gijsen, published by Willem de Koning Academie in Rotterdam. A wonderful resource for students, educators, and researchers and others who place making in the centre of their research. Miriam Rasch on the book:
“Hands On Research” is about the model we’ve developed here in the WdKA Research Station for teaching students how to do research. It is directed primarily at bachelor students, but we hope it offers a model for doing research that others can relate to as well. We put making centre stage in the hope to say something about how design and artistic research can differ from doing research in other fields.”
Make sure not to miss the booklaunch at Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam, which will take place on April 2nd from 16:00-18:00.
